Memories to cherish for lifetime : Adios JCE !

Finally I have to write this "It was last day in JCE BELGAUM yesterday" .. . Believe me when I joined JCE I never wanted to write this, my dream was to build and raise my career  here, but somethings are inevitable !

This was my 2nd home for 15 months : Dept of CSE

For an year and so, JCE has been my second home, and it’s really hard to write about 15 months of fun filled memories in one blog post.
It finally dawns upon me what a big piece of my life filled with so many memories I’m leaving behind..  My students, you guys are some of the most amazing people I know and I’m going to miss you all.
To all my colleagues at Computer Science Engineering,  I will miss our team, specially Chitti sir, Anand sir, Viresh sir, Shridhar sir, Abhinandan sir, Parimal sir -> Numerous chats, staying late till evening to correct IA books, leaving early sometimes by writing in movement register , parties without any reason, Lemon tea at Ramesh anna's shop etc, these are some things which I will never get back. With many of you, I have shared a unique camaraderie which I hope will continue in the years to come even though I shall not be part of JCE.

It has been an enriching and memorable journey of 15 lovely months and I have had the honour of being the FACE coordinator this year and I take immense pride in the fact that everyone has shown so much faith in me. Teachers day, AVENSIS, Fresher's day some unforgettable memories !.
It saddens me now that I realize I will never be coming back here again. As much as it kills me to say this. Venturing into the new world I realise that today I depart with mixed emotions. Joyous, that I am prepared to deal with life’s challenges yet disappointed that I have to leave JCE in order to move on in life.

All my teachers colleagues and student friends, you have always been an integral part of my life and not seeing you all again gives me the shivers. I hope to remain in touch with each one of you all forever.
I will miss each and every element of JCE, but at the same time, cherish the memories of my time spent here. The journey went through Software Engineering , Web Programming, INS, C.
Maggi jokes during Software Engineering classes and first teaching blues were memorable. 2011-15 CS batch, u r my personal favourite batch, u guys rock !
I wonder where those 15 months went. They simply fleeted by happily on the sands of time and have ushered me to this day. It is undeniably difficult to say goodbye to what better way to do it than celebrate? Oh yess !! Thanks a ton to my students (7th sem & 5th sem)and colleagues for giving me grand farewell parties ( 5 farewell parties in 3 days !! ). 5th semester students, I never taught u any subject, but ur farwell party was touching !
Thanks for the trendy FASTRACK watch. Loved it !!!

The CAKE that brought happy tears ! Miss ur batch :(

I wish all my students good luck for their future life and I pray that each one achieves his/her goals and dreams.
I do wish all my colleagues ,CSE department and the JCE every success in all its future endeavors.

Lived the best part of my life in BELGAUM in last 3 years. Belgaum i will be back soon. KA 22 is stamped onto my heart forever !

Nostalgia !!! Adieu to ORKUT. . A final walk thru the scraps, testimonials and many more !

Feeling nostalgic, logging into orkut after a long time to recollect many special memories of our generation’s first social networking site. Remember how till some time back it was one of the coolest thing to be on Orkut.

We were in a NO-APP No-candy crush zone, with no smartphones around ORKUT was best site to kill the time and have loads of funn.
Digging into ORKUTTING days and taking a final walk through the memories. >NOSTALGIA<
Way back in 2008, during our fresher’s day, a bunch of seniors were ragging me, the question asked by one of my senior after getting to know my name was .. “are u on orkut?? “ !!  Butterflies in stomach !! I responded like .what orkut?? What.  She said - “Arey jaa orkut pe register kar le pehle”.

From there the journey of social networking started and I used to spend most of the time in hostel internet centre. Sending friendship requests to everyone was so common;  connecting to school friends  and writing numerous scrapbook entries became the regular routine after college hours. Most crazy part was finding ur crushes n viewing their profile regularly till they accepted friend request.

Clicking plenty of pics for showcasing a stylish pose to impress everyone and this is how DPs were born, which made everyone look much better than they actually did (ROFL a bitter truth -_-).
And ‘testimonials’?? how can we forget?. They were an assurance about our goodness, looks, style etc etc. . Begging friends and luring them by treats just to make them write testimonials on our profile.

Logging in to check the scrapbook entries not only of ours but of everyone. ‘Hey, I saw your scrap, why didn’t you scrap me?” Arguing and fighting over who has got highest scraps. !! it was much more cool if you had over a thousand scraps. It actually turned into a competition to have the highest number of scraps and people on your friend list.

I remember during my birthdays, the first thing I used to do was log in to ORKUT and check how many people wrote a scrapbook entry with all those graphic birthday wishes made the day most special.

Applying new themes to the profile, graphic fonts and names to attract everyone. We could also see who all visited our profile — it was really a cool feature, so we used to spend a lot of time in updating all the profile details.

Seeing my pics clicked in my 20s is the real fun, no less than watching a CARTOON show!

Our generation learnt about social networking through Orkut and it helped us big time getting in touch with long-lost school and childhood galli friends.
Orkut, to me, will be like a maruti 800 or a cassette tape recorder — which left us with lots of good memories so as to receive more better things.
Social networking now is all about 'likes', 'comments', ‘photo tags’, 'hastags' etc,

Finally Orkut gets buried in the graveyard of dead, the memories of our teenage first social networking memories will always remain strong.

REST IN PEACE - ORKUT  _/\_
